| Name: | Emilia |
|---|
Emilia is the narrator in a series of poems inspired by José Limon's The Moor's Pavane. As such, this is a retelling of a retelling of the story of Othello, originally by Shakespeare. However, Emilia is an original take on her namesake in the Shakespeare (and Limon) version(s).
I claim no affiliation beyond her name (which in the poems is even shortered to E.)
In this poetic universe, Emilia and D(esdemona) are lovers and Iago's betrayal is without Emilia's knowledge or willing participation.
The plot is largely kept intact, although reduced to a drama that only involves the four main characters, as in the ballet.
I'm building as I go and more poems are added to the collection.
What he will do with it, Heaven knows, not I.
